Learning Fashion Illustrator by computer was a challenge. Going from hand sketching which is a love to computer generated style lines was difficult. Self-taught made it even more of a challenge because there was no right or wrong. Watching others who knew the craft of working with computers helped. Asking a lot of questions also made it easier but just sitting down and working with different components fined tuned how to define the work. Now there are videos and books, but in the beginning and I do mean in the beginning, starting with the very first illustrator when you had to streamline your artwork by scanning the sketch first, which had its own trials became a mission, to claim my own style. As a product development designer creating new concepts is a passion. Getting the looks into the stores with a positive response rate from clients is even better. Every challenge when it comes to illustrating by computer, from the lace to the print, keeps the imagination moving in new directions. No more sketching something over and over again until it was right. No more piles of paper covered with magic markers and paint filling the trash bin. Looking back at my muse, the very first sketch done completely with black and gray overtones gave an insight into how much fun it was to figure it out on my own, to learning something new by taking the gift of hand and learning how to move the mouse to showcase a new skill. It took a long time to give her up. She graced the main page of my website for years. So here she is in all her glory, defining how much love there is for illustrating, fashion and style.

Fashion is change. Embrace the moment and then move on to something exciting.
