Cotton is a fantastic base fabric, especially for intimates, sleepwear, and the loungewear choices for concept design. Bamboo has been moving into the market with sleepwear components and activewear choices. When looking at the two fabrications, there are many similarities with wicking and softness being the main factors. Both fabrics produce fantastic results for a more viable way to move into the Eco-friendly mainstream marketplace. Still, when choosing and looking at bamboo fabric construction, linen base bamboo is more sustainable because of the natural way it is structured. While researching bamboo-based fabrics to achieve the softness, an intense chemical process must occur, leaving the question if it is as Eco-friendly as once thought. Bamboo offers a pesticide-free component, but cotton is chemical-free and hypo-allergenic. Depending on the customer base, both fabrications can achieve a beautiful wicking sports alternative that can enhance any brand basics.
